Walk: Detour

In short

These exercises are done in pairs. Once the participants understand the process, the exercise is executed in silence.

Process

  • Walk outside with a timer set for 20 minutes. It could be on a less busy street with a big garden or a park, or even a walking path along a canal or field.
  • The pair will walk together but keep a flexible distance during the walk. You may walk as far away from your partner as you like so long you do not lose sight of her/him/them. Be mindful of your walking pace in order not to lose your partner.
  • When the timer goes off, you may return to your starting point by deliberatly taking a detour. Walk in silence with your partner in sight, but choose a different route back to the starting point.
